Freddy Peters came up big, stopping 39 of 41 shots throughout the game. The Roc City Royals took the lead late in the second on a goal from Zach Buchholz. Henrik Toiviainen contributed with 2 assists.
During the first period, Corey opened the scoring for the Royals with a goal at 6:52 with helpers from his linemates, Spicer and Toiviainen. Corey deposited a goal at 15:03 with an assist from defenseman Conolly.
In the second, Mazzo finally put the Express on the board with a goal at 8:20 with helpers from his teammates Senese and Stuart. Woods netted a goal at 14:54 with assists from his linemates, Bennett and Logar. Buchholz answered for the Royals with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:36 with a helper from Toiviainen.
During the third period, Corey put in a goal at 19:27 with an assist from his linemate Izzo.
Roc City’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Peters’ big night as he stopped 39 of the 41 shots he faced. On the other hand, Peters’ counterpart, Fitzpatrick, and the Express’ defense did not have such a great night stopping only 19 of 22 shots.
